Several of our talented youth female players, joined by Girls Dev Squad Staff and Mixed Junior Football Coaches, attended Upper Hutt City Football’s first ever coaching course hosted at our fantastic Maidstone Park Clubrooms on Sun 9 Jun 2013. Paul Greig, Capital Football Development Officer and Lorraine Bowring, UHCF Womens and Girls Club Captain were there to lend a hand.
The course attendees strongly recommend that this course is for all parents keen to support their child’s development; whether coaching or not. ‘The content helps you to understand how the NZF Whole of Football Plan will have a positive impact on our children’s development; with encouragement not pressure before a game, choice of words to use from the side-line (both parent and coach) and the all-important ‘post match chat’ during the homeward bound car journey’. ‘This course explained how players develop at different rates and not just technically or physically either….social/emotional and psychological are just as important’. ‘Whilst our children are in their formative playing years then focusing on development and supporting the club environment that provides this will be a win, win in the long run’.
Upper Hutt City Football hosts several player development programmes and 100% supports the NZF Whole of Football Plan.
For coaches and parents looking to help UHCF create a better environment for our players then a second Intro to Junior Coaching Course will be hosted next Sunday 16th June 2013. If you are a parent or coach that would like to know or contribute more to your childs or teams development then register ASAP for the course with our Junior Football Club Captain Sean Adams upperhuttcityjuniors@hotmail.co.nz
